DESIGN NOTES & GUIDANCE
QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Considered answers to the questions we are asked most often, from installation and compatibility to materials and care.
Yes. Our travertine fixtures offered for the U.S. market are designed for standard American residential electrical systems. Hardwired pieces should be installed by a qualified electrician.
Where a design is described as natural travertine, it is genuine stone. Its small pores, mineral markings, tonal shifts and surface variation are natural characteristics rather than defects.
Slightly, yes. No two pieces of natural travertine have exactly the same pattern, color concentration or texture. The design remains consistent while the stone gives each fixture its own character.
Use a soft dry or slightly damp microfiber cloth. Avoid acidic products, abrasive cleaners and aggressive scrubbing, which can affect the stone's natural surface.
Many designs can be dimmed when the light source and wall dimmer are compatible. Please check the individual product specifications before selecting your dimming system.
Natural stone has more weight than many conventional lighting materials. We recommend professional installation with appropriate mounting hardware for the wall or ceiling construction.
